Ingredients

1 pound white medium or long grain rice
1/2 cup vegetable oil
16 ounces water or as needed*
Salt to taste
Directions
Place the vegetable oil in a big pot.
Wash the rice well and add to the pot. Water should be about 1 inch above the rice.
Add salt to taste.
Cook on medium high until all the water is absorbed.
Reduce heat to low.
Cover the pot with aluminum foil and place the top on tighly.
Cook for about 35-40 minutes, depending on your stove.
Tips
Placing aluminum foil over the pot of rice gives the grains a chance to all pop evenly.
