1 3/4 c. milk or water
1 c. oats
salt as needed
1 tbsp. margarine
small cinammon stick
1 envelope "Sweet and Low"(optional) or
sugar to taste
ground cinammon
In a saucepan, bring the water (or milk), salt (if you choose), margarine, cinammon stick, sugar or Sweet and Low to a boil.

Add the oats and bring down the heat to medium.

Cook 5 minutes if you use quick oatmeal, a little longer for regular oatmeal and stir occasionally.

Remove from the heat, remove the cinammon stick, cover the saucepan and serve in 2-4 minutes.

Garnish with ground cinammon and your favorite fruit in the center.
You can also make it in the microwave by using the same amount ingredients and cook as follows:

Combine the water or milk, margarine, ground cinammon, salt (if you choose), sugar or Sweet and Low with the oats in a microwave safe dish.

Microwave on medium which is 50% of the power, for 5-6 minutes.

Remove from microwave, mix well.

**Use less water for thicker oatmeal.**
