Harina de Maiz

2 1/2 cups of milk
dash of salt
1/3 cup corn meal “harina de maiz”
1 tablespoon of butter (optional)
1 tablespoon of sugar (optional)
Pour milk into 1 quart saucepan, add salt, butter, corn meal and sugar if you chose this.
Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Turn off heat when it boils and pour into bowls.
Top with strawberries, peaches, fruit cocktail.
Serve with toast or fresh baked bread.
My Mom wouldn’t let us eat the fruit until we got to it, so we could eat all of our “cremita”.
